Yellowjackets Sign Second Grays Harbor Standout
BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana State Billings men’s basketball team added its third recruit to the 2008 recruiting class as Brad Hodge signed with the Yellowjackets as announced by Director of Athletics Dr. Gary Gray Wednesday.
“Brad will bring some tremendous offensive and defensive skills to the program immediately,” Gray said. “He can rebound, shoot inside, shoot outside, and play tough defense. As a 6’9” player, he will show and immediate presence on the court. We’re extremely excited to have Brad as a Yellowjacket.”
Hodge, a native of Hillsboro, Ore., played with Yellowjacket signee Lance Anderson at Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen, Wash. Hodge helped lead the Chokers an 18-12 record and a 9-8 record in the division in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges. He averaged 7.4 rebounds per game which was good for 18th in the NAACC. In addition, he had 144 defensive rebounds on the year, which was good for second in the league. Hodge is a 6’9” athletic forward who can run the court or step out and hit a three.
Prior to Grays Harbor, Hodge redshirted at Salt Lake Community College and prepped at Hillsboro High School where he helped lead the team to a runner-up finish in state in 2002-03. He was tabbed second team all-metro in 2003-04 and was named to the LSI all-tournament team and first team all-metro in 2004-05. Hodge ranks sixth in scoring all-time in Oregon.
Hodge reunites with his GHC teammate, Anderson, and Ryan Meehan of Beaverton, Ore., as the first three student-athletes to sign with the Yellowjackets for the 2008-09 season.
