Heartland Announces XC Awards

BILLINGS, MT – The Heartland
Conference announced its end of season cross-country
awards on Wednesday. The Montana State-Billings
teams combined for four all-conference honors, and
head coach Dave Coppock was named the HLC Women’s
Coach of the Year.
The Yellowjacket women won the
Heartland Conference team title on October 21,
outpacing Incarnate Word by 23 points. Freshmen
Teri Lea McCormick (Hardin, MT) and Crystal
Roseberry (Chinook, MT) were named to the
all-conference team for placing sixth and eighth
respectively.
Coppock was selected as the
Coach of the Year in voting by the other coaches in
the conference. Coppock is in his eighteenth season
as the Yellowjackets’ head coach. Lincoln
University’s Nessa Paul was named the Runner of the
Year, and Incarnate Word’s Klara Garcia was the
Freshman of the Year.
Two Yellowjacket men earned
all-conference honors. Matt Roseberry (Chinook, MT)
finished fourth in the championship race, and Jarred
Rensvold (Wolf Point, MT) placed seventh.
Kevin Felts of team champion St. Edward’s University was
voted Coach of the Year.
David Fuentes of St.
Edward's was the Runner of the Year, and
Felix Rodriguez of Dallas Baptist was the Freshman of the Year. |
