(12/21/06)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana
State-Billings senior
Ally
Stroup has been named to the 2006 NSCAA/adidas Women’s
Soccer Scholar All-America College Division First Team. Last
week Stroup was named to the NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-West
Region Second Team.
The scholar all-region teams
consisted of players from all divisions combined. Stroup, a
senior forward from Ojai, Calif., was one of just two NCAA
Division II student-athletes named to the all-region first or
second teams, which were comprised almost entirely of NCAA
Division I athletes. When the NSCAA announces its Scholar
All-America teams, it separates NCAA Division I student-athletes
(University Division) from Divisions II and III (College
Division).
Stroup, a psychology major
with a 3.62 cumulative grade point average, finished her career
at MSU Billings as the best offensive player in school history.
She holds career school records for goals, assists, and points.
This season Stroup led the Heartland Conference in points,
points per game, goals, and goals per game. She was named team
MVP, first team all-conference, and first team all-region. In
addition to the NSCAA scholar award, Stroup was twice named to
the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII second team by
CoSIDA. |
