Maag’s Top Five Finish Leads Jacket Golfers at Regis

DENVER, CO –
Emily
Maag finished at 21-over for the tournament at the
Regis University Invitational to lead the Montana
State-Billings women to a second place team finish. The
junior from Colstrip, Montana shot rounds of 81 and 84
to finish with a 165 to finish in 4th place.
The Yellowjackets finished with a
36-hole total of 694, only behind Fort Hays State
University’s total of 665. The Jackets second place
finish edged host Regis University’s total of 700 by six
strokes. Chadron State College ended with a 709 and
Colorado Christian University turned in an 803. Tedi
Thorne of Colorado Christian won top individual honors
with a tournament-low 81-75-156.
The
Jacket’s second lowest-scorer, senior
Halley Montalban (Billings, MT),
finished 9th overall with her 85-84-169 and
freshman
Amy
Nordeen’s (Hamilton, MT)
88-87-175 gave her a 13th place finish.
MSUB’s
Jessica Boyer (Billings, MT)
turned in a 94-91-185 and
Teri Rebo’s
(Libby, MT) 98-104-202 round
out Yellowjacket scores.
Both
Jacket golf teams will be playing in the Collegiate Cup
at Peter Yegen Golf Course on October 12th
and 13th against Rocky Mountain College.
Play will be done in a “Ryder Cup” format and will
feature singles play, as well as “four-ball”
pairings play.
