Men’s Golf Team Continues Road Trip

BELLINGHAM, WA – There’s no rest
for the Yellowjacket men’s golf team as they continue
their Washington road trip, competing in the 35th
Annual Western Washington University Invitational. The
same group, who just completed the Saint Martin’s
Tournament on Saturday, took on the 14 field of teams
today.
Playing 36 holes in the first day of the two-day
tournament, Western Washington University leads the pack
with a 291-276-567. The Jackets currently sit in a tie
for 13th with a 309-304-613. Zach Ables
(74-75) and Mike Rider (78-71) highlighted Jacket play
by each notching a day-one score of 149. The par 72,
6,575-yard course is led by Ryan Dolbow of Western
Washington who fired a tournament-low 74-73-147.
The Jacket’s Jeff Allen shot a 77
and 82, for a total of 159. Rounding out MSU-B’s play
was Michael Konrad (82-78) and Jason Kinsey (80-80), who
both finished with scores of 160.
Play will continue tomorrow in
Bellingham where golfers will play two more rounds to
finish the tournament.
