Rider Leads Jacket Men at St. Mary’s (10/16/06)
SAN ANTONIO, TX – Mike Rider’s
3-over 74 leads the Montana State-Billings men’s golf
team in the first round of the St. Mary’s University
Invitational on Monday at the Pecan Valley Golf Club.
Rider currently sits in the top quarter of the
individuals playing in San Antonio after his rounds of
39 and 35.
Rider is followed by MSUB teammate
Zach Abels for the team lead. Abels fired a 39-37-76 in
his first round of play, while Jacket sophomore Michael
Konrad’s 41-39-80 has him near the middle of the pack.
Nathan Redfern turned in a 39-45-84 and Jason Kinsey
finished with a 43-42-85. St. Mary’s K.C. Lim leads all
golfers after posting a 3-under, 34-34-68.
As a team, MSUB is sitting in 18th
place out of 20 teams, with a combined score of 314.
Texas A&M University leads with a 2-over 286. Round two
of the tournament was not finished due to darkness and
will be finished Tuesday morning prior to the start of
round three.
The Yellowjacket
women traveled to Seaside California for the Cal
State-Monterey Bay Lady Otter Invitational. First
round results have yet to be reported.
