Windy Boy Earns Heartland Honor (11/29/05)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings senior Buddy Windy Boy has been selected as the Heartland Conference
men’s basketball player of the week. The 6-foot-6 guard from
Lodge Grass becomes the Yellowjackets’ first player of the week
winner in their new conference.
Windy Boy totaled 47 points in a pair of
Yellowjacket victories last week as MSU Billings started the
season 2-0. He netted 14 points in Monday’s season-opening
blowout win over Johnson & Wales of Denver. On Saturday Windy Boy
poured in a career-high 33 points against Minot State. He was
9-of-13 from 3-point range against Minot and made 12 threes for
the week. With his 3-point barrage on Saturday, Windy Boy
recorded his 228th career 3-pointer to move up to fifth
in school history.
Windy Boy needs only three more 3-pointers to
catch Reece Gliko for third on the career record list. He is also
just 22 points from becoming the 21st player in school
history to score 1,000 career points.
The Yellowjackets will hold their annual
alumni game on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Alterowitz Gym. Their
next game is December 8 when they host Rocky Mountain College.
