Yellowjackets Fall in Four at Chaminade (Oct. 1, 2004)
Box Score

Honolulu, HI – Montana State-Billings lost in four games to Chaminade Friday night, dropping the Yellowjackets to 1-3 in the PacWest volleyball standings (8-5 overall).  The Yellowjackets won the first game before dropping three straight to lose 32-34, 30-23, 30-22, 30-19.  The Silverswords improved to 4-1 in league play and 9-3 overall.

Chaminade’s Patti Hardimon led a solid hitting night for the Silverswords, who hit .228 as a team to the Yellowjackets’ .106.  Hardimon knocked down 19 kills on 34 attempts with just four errors for a .441 hitting percentage.  Four players reached double-digit kills for Chaminade.  Marijana Stanic finished with 15, Kahala Kabalis added 14, and Valasi Sepulona had 13.  The PacWest volleyball race now appears to be a two-team affair between Chaminade and eighth-ranked Hawaii Pacific (5-0, 11-1).

The Yellowjackets struggled on the attack for most of the evening.  Jessica Bratton (So., OH, Casper, WY) and Andrea Donahue (Sr., MB, Whitefish, MT) were the most productive for MSU Billings at the net.  Bratton had 17 kills on a .208 hitting percentage.  Donahue added 10 kills and three blocks.

Alicia Cazemier (Fr., MB, Vauxhall, Alberta) finished with eight kills and two blocks as she continued to have a solid freshman season.  Kari Jones (Sr., MB, Hermiston, OR) was in on six blocks off the bench.

The Yellowjackets wrap up the Hawaii trip on Saturday night when they play at Hawaii-Hilo.  A win against the Vulcans would give MSU Billings a four-match split in Hawaii for the first time ever.  The Jackets defeated BYU-Hawaii on Monday before losing to Hawaii Pacific on Tuesday and Chaminade on Friday.

MSU Billings returns to Billings for nine-straight home matches beginning October 8 and 9 against BYU-Hawaii.
