Lady Jackets Fall to Seattle, 2-0

SEATTLE, WA – The Montana State
University-Billings women’s soccer team fell to Seattle University
0-2 Saturday placing the Lady Jackets at 6-2-1
on the season. This came after a loss against Seattle Pacific
University earlier this week.
Both of the Redhawks' goals were scored by
Katy Mak. The first came at 69:55 when
she beat the keeper 1-on-1. The second of Mak's goals came in the 73rd minute on a cross from the left corner that was touched in.
Seattle’s goalkeeper had five saves on the day with the team
taking five shots on goal.
Megan Beckstead (Sr., MF, Salt Lake City) had
one shot on goal tying that of teammates Ally Taylor (So., MF
Ojai, CA), Laura Trinkle (Sr., D, Westminster, CO) and Vanessa
Edwards (Fr., D, Kent, WA). Goalkeeper Megan Plank (So., GK,
Phoenix, AZ) had eight saves on the day.
“We played well the first half and had
opportunities to score but just couldn’t put it together today,”
said head coach Don Trentham. “Although we started strong for the
season, we realize that we still have some work to do,” he added.
The Yellowjackets take on Western Washington
Monday, September 27th in Bellingham. The Vikings are
6-4-0 on the season. |
