The Lady Jackets will have an autograph session with the
participants following the clinic. Over 100 participants took
part in last year’s clinic.
MSU Billings will take on Savannah College of
Art and Design on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the COT. The first 50
youth ages 5-18 who wear their soccer jerseys to the game will
receive a free MSU Billings soccer t-shirt.
The Lady Jackets are off to their best start
in the program’s history with a 3-0-1 record after the first two
weekends. They tied North Dakota, 1-1, last Saturday and defeated
Mesa State, 2-1, in double overtime. Ally
Taylor (So., MF, Ojai, CA) scored her second goal of the year
in the 109th minute to give the Yellowjackets their
third win.
Taylor has two goals and an assist so far
this year. Freshman Brittney Sandau (MF, Billings, MT) also has five points with
two goals and an assist. She scored the Yellowjackets’ first goal
in the win over Mesa State.
Alyssa Wolfer (So., F, Longmont, CO) leads the Yellowjackets
in scoring with three goals and six points. She netted the team’s
only goal in the draw with North Dakota.
Goalkeeper Megan
Plank (So., Phoenix, AZ), who began her freshman season with a
2-0-1 record last year, is off to a 3-0-1 start this season. She
has only allowed three goals in 399:06 for a 0.68 goal against
average. She set a school single season record last year with a
1.15 goals against average.
Savannah College of Art and Design is also
unbeaten so far this season with a 2-0-1 record. SCAD played to a
2-2 draw against Virginia Intermont College last week. Last
season’s leading scorer, Laura Vaughn, already has two goals this
year. She found the net a dozen times last year.
The Bees will play at Carroll College in
Helena on Friday before traveling to Billings for Sunday’s match
up with the Yellowjackets. Their scheduled game with Embry Riddle
on Tuesday was postponed because of Hurricane Frances. |
