Yellowjacket Softball Signs Washington Player
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings
softball coach Jeff Aumend has announced that Terina
Stacks of Washougal, Wash., has signed a national letter
of intent to play for the Yellowjackets next season.
Stacks, a multi-position player who is a senior at Washougal High
School, signed during the NCAA’s early signing period
between November 10 and 17.
“Terina is a perfect fit for our
program,” said Yellowjacket head coach Jeff Aumend. “She
is a multi-position pitcher who can hit. Her control of
pitches is her strength, but we think her long levers lend
to gaining velocity in college. She gives us depth, not
only at pitcher, but also as a utility player who can play
every position except catcher.”
Stacks is a two-sport standout at
Washougal HS, lettering all four years in soccer and
softball. She was a two-time team captain in soccer,
earning all-league first team and player of the year
honors as a junior.
Stacks earned softball all-league
second team honors last season after helping lead
Washougal to the league championship and state
tournament. She will be the softball team captain this
spring.
“I chose MSU Billings because it is a
smaller school with a great education program,” said
Stacks, who was a four-year honor roll student. “I want
to be a high school math teacher, and MSU Billings has the
programs to help me become a teacher. I thought the
school was a perfect fit for me.” |
