Lady Jacket Tennis Downs Mountain Lions (Mar. 10, 2005)
Colorado Springs, CO – After
inclement weather forced the match to be contested
inside, the Lady Jackets came out on top 6-3 over
University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Tuesday night
at Lynmar Raquet Club. The match was originally
scheduled for 2 p.m. However, poor weather postponed
the dual until 10 p.m. The Yellowjacket men’s team also
played the Mountain Lions where they came up short
falling 1-8.
In doubles play the Lady Jackets
went two for three in their matches against the Mountain
Lions. The lions were defeated in four of six matches
by the Jackets in singles play. Three women’s matches
were won by a tie break. On the men’s side, Sean
O’Daniel was the only Yellowjacket to score a point for
the team in singles play where he defeated his opponent
in a tie break 10-8. The Yellowjacket men were defeated
by tie breaks in three of their matches.
Both the men and women are
continuing their spring break tour throughout Colorado.
The teams are scheduled to take on Metropolitan State
University on Friday March 11.
