Jacket Golf Adds Miles City Player (May 6, 2005)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings
head men’s golf coach Roger Burckley announced this week
that Todd Stevenson of Miles City, Mont., has signed a
national letter of intent to play for the Yellowjackets
next year. Stevenson will graduate from Custer County
High School this spring.
A three time letterman, Stevenson
earned all-conference and all-state honors as a senior for
the Cowboys. He placed third at the State A tournament,
shooting rounds of 75 and 77. As a junior he was named
the team MVP. Custer County HS placed second at the
Eastern A Divisional this year and fourth in Stevenson’s
sophomore season.
“I like the idea of competing at a
higher level than what other colleges in Montana have to
offer,” said Stevenson of his choosing MSU Billings. “I
look forward t improving my game. MSU Billings has great
practice facilities at Mitchell Golf and a great home
course at The Briarwood.”
The Yellowjackets placed second at
the Pacific West Conference championships behind
University of Hawaii-Hilo. The Vulcans have since gone on
to the regional tournament where they qualified for the
NCAA National Championships. MSU Billings moves to the
Heartland Conference next season. |
