Jackets Ranked in Top Five for
Scoring, 3-Point Shooting (Feb. 8, 2005)
BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State-Billings
men’s basketball team is ranked third in the nation for scoring
and fourth for 3-point shooting in this week’s NCAA Division II
statistical rankings. The Yellowjackets, who host 13th-ranked
Hawaii-Hilo at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, are averaging 92.9 points and
11.0 three-pointers a game.
MSU Billings is also ranked eleventh for free
throw percentage with a 76.2 percent team average. Junior guard Cameron Munoz (Chino, CA) is No. 2 in the nation for free
throw shooting at 91.4 percent. He also ranks seventh nationally
for 3-point field goals at 3.81 per game.
Junior Buddy Windy Boy (Lodge Grass, MT) is sixth in the country for
3-point shooting, just ahead of Munoz, at 3.83 made per game. He
also ranks seventeenth for 3-point field goal percentage at 45.1
percent.
Sophomore guard Jonathan Wiley (Westlake Village, CA) is ranked 26th nationally for free throw percentage at 86.2 percent.
Following Tuesday’s game against the Vulcans,
MSU Billings will host Chaminade at 7:00 on Thursday and 8:00 on
Saturday. |
