Yellowjackets & Alumni Light Up Scoreboard (Jan. 15, 2005)
BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State-Billings
men’s basketball team filled its off weekend with a 116-99 win in
its annual alumni game. The Yellowjackets (8-4) return to Pacific
West Conference action on January 18 when they host league leader
BYU-Hawaii. Tip off is set for 8:00 p.m. following the Lady
Jackets’ game against Western New Mexico.
The two teams combined to make 37
3-pointers. Buddy Windy Boy (Jr., Lodge Grass, MT) led all
players with 31 points and nine threes. The Yellowjackets made 23
3-pointers as a team. Carlin Hughes (Fr., Perth, Western
Australia) made five and finished with 24 points. Jay Jamieson (Fr., Big Sandy, MT) knocked down four triples and netted 18
points.
Five Yellowjackets finished in double figures
for scoring. Lucas Walker (Fr., Launceston, Australia) scored 25
points, hitting three 3-pointers. Senior Justin Hassell (Brooklyn, NY) added 17 points.
The MSU Billings alumni team was led by 30
points from Mark Hamilton. The 1998 graduate dropped in eight
three pointers. He is the second-leading 3-point shooter in
school history with 286 career threes.
Hamilton paced four alumni in double
figures. Nate Strong finished with 16 points. Kyle Stirmlinger
added 15 points before fouling out. Joe Trottier chipped in 14
points, adding a pair of 3-pointers.
