Yellowjacket Golf Teams Complete
First Rounds of Year (Sept. 27, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – The
Montana State-Billings golf teams played their first
rounds of the fall season on Monday, with the men's
varsity at Western Washington, the women's varsity at
Rocky Mountain, and the men's JV at Rocky Mountain.
The Yellowjacket
men are in tenth place at Western Washington after
Monday's 36 holes. The Yellowjackets are +30 with
team rounds of 305 and 301. Hawaii-Hilo leads the
tournament at -6 after rounds of 289 and 281. Shane
Prante of St. Martin's is the individual leader at 9-under
par. The tournament's final round will be played
Tuesday at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
The Yellowjackets
were led by Zach Abels's rounds of 74 and 77. Abels
is currently tied for 33rd place at +7. Nick Larson
is tied for 38th at +8, Chris Haas is in 45th at +10,
Chris McConnell is in 46th at +11, and Bryan Barthelmess
is tied for 53rd at +15.
The Yellowjacket
women and men's JV team played two rounds at Peter Yegen
Golf Club in the Rocky Mountain Invitational. The
Lady Jackets are in seventh place with a 708. Rocky
Mountain leads the team tournament at 610. Rocky's
Ashley Griffith leads the tournament at 147 with rounds of
73 and 74.
The Lady Jackets
were led by Halley Montalban's rounds of 78 and 89 for
25-over 167. Amanda Rabenberg is at 172, Nicole
Salsbery is at 182, Julie Clifford is at 190 and Nicole
Clayton is at 193.
The Yellowjacket
JV team is in sixth place with a combined 603 after rounds
of 304 and 299. Heath Anderson leads the Jackets
with a 3-over 145 after rounds of 71 and 74. Matt
Desin is at 150, Sean Bowling is at 154, and Jason Kinsey
is at 154.
The Rocky Mountain
Invitational wraps up on Tuesday with one round at Peter
Yegen. |
