Doug Seigle enters his
third season as the Head Men's Soccer Coach for the Yellowjackets.
Seigle, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, guided MSU Billings to a 6-11
record in his first season and a 6-9-1 mark last year.
Seigle played college soccer at Viterbo College in
La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he was a three-time NAIA All-America
selection. He was a four-year starter at goalkeeper at Viterbo and
still holds school records for career wins and career shutouts. As a
senior, he was selected to play in the Umbro Senior Soccer Bowl. In
2002, Seigle was inducted into Viterbo’s Wall of Fame.
Since finishing college, Seigle has been coaching
and playing professionally throughout the Midwest and Southeast. Seigle
has played for the Tallahassee Scorpions and Tupelo Houndogs of the
Eastern Indoor Soccer League as well as the Omaha Flames, Sioux City
Breeze, and Atlanta Express of the United States Independent Soccer
League.
Seigle spent four years as the the assistant men’s coach at Luther College in Decorah,
Iowa. He has also coached and directed numerous youth camps and has
been active in youth soccer programs and camps since 1987.
“Over
the past twenty years, I have gained great experience with my success as
both a player and coach,” said Seigle. “This has helped me prepare
to run a quality collegiate soccer program. I’m confident that
MSU Billings has the potential to be that quality program.” |
