Lynnes Places 14th to Pace
Yellowjacket Cross-Country Team (Sept. 20, 2003)
BOZEMAN, MT – Chelsea Lynnes continued her strong start to the 2003 cross-country
season with at 14th place finish at the
MSU-Bozeman Invitational on Saturday. She completed
the three-mile event in 19:28, just six seconds out
of the top ten.
MSU Billings placed fifth
in the five-team race, with Utah Valley State taking
home first place. The other four teams at the meet
were from Division I schools. Lynnes (Jr., Miles
City, MT) finished ahead of MSU-Bozeman’s third,
fourth and fifth place finishers. Rounding out the
Yellowjackets’ top six were Anjel Hoff (Sr.,
Billings, MT) in 27th place with a time
of 20:16, Tiffany Piplica (Fr., Riverton, WY) in 34th place with a time of 20:53, Tracie Overberg (So.,
Dodson, MT) in 37th place with a time of
21:55, Kendra Bebee (So., Dillon, MT) in 38th place with a time of 22:03, and Raquel McCarthy (Jr., Butte, MT) in 39th place with a
time of 22:09. MSU-Bozeman’s Ariana Lee won the
race in 18:00.
The Yellowjacket men’s team was
led by Scott Brown’s (So., Billings, MT) 40th place finish. Brown covered the 5.2 mile course in
30:18. The was followed by Joe Kragt (Fr., Worden, MT) in 42nd place with a
time of 30:38, Ryan Archibald (Jr.,
Missoula, MT) in 44th place with a time
of 31:08, Sam Hartpence (So., Custer, SD) in 45th place with a time of 31:24, Sean Hannifin (Fr.,
Billings, MT) in 48th place with a time
of 33:34, and Brendan Murray (Jr., Billings, MT) in
51st place with a time of 35:21. Idaho
State’s Paul Hoffman won the men’s race in 25:35.
The Yellowjackets will travel
to Dickinson, ND next Saturday for the Dickinson
State Invitational.
