Yellowjacket Harriers Wrap Up Season at NCAA West
Regional (Nov. 8, 2003)
CHINO, CA – The MSU Billings
cross-country teams finished their 2003 seasons at
the NCAA West Regional Championships on Saturday.
Held at Prado Park, the Yellowjacket women’s team
finished 23rd in the 24-team field while
the Yellowjacket men’s team finished last in a 17
–team field. Chico State and UC-San Diego finished
1-2 in both team races.
Anjel Hoff (Sr., Billings, MT)
led the Lady Yellowjacket runners with a 58th place finish. She covered the 6K course in 24:31.
Hoff was followed by Tiffany Piplica (Fr., Riverton,
WY) in 95th place (25:30), Raquel
McCarthy (Jr., Butte, MT) in 130th (27:11), Tracie Overberg (So., Dodson, MT)in 131st (27:23), Kendra Bebee (So., Dillon, MT) in 135th (27:57), and Chelsea Lynnes (Jr., Miles City, MT) in
147th (29:49). Lynnes was still
suffering the effects of a foot injury suffered
three weeks ago.
The Yellowjacket men were paced
by Scott Brown’s (So., Billings, MT) 94th place finish, completing the 10K in 37:25. Also
finishing for the Yellowjackets were Sam Hartpence
(So., Custer, SD) in 102nd (38:02), Joe
Kragt (Fr., Billings, MT) in 108th (38:59), Ryan Archibald (Jr., Missoula, MT) in 110th (39:21), Sean Hannifin (Fr., Billings, MT) in 115th (42:04), and Brendan Murray (Jr., Billings, MT) in
116th (43:43). |
