Two Transfers to Join Lady Jacket Soccer Team (Mar. 15, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – Head women’s soccer coach Don
Trentham has announced that two junior college transfers have
signed to play for the Yellowjackets next season. Lacey Albrent
will transfer from Ventura County Community College, and Sarah
Wilcox will transfer from Walla Walla Community College.
Albrent played two seasons at Ventura County
C.C. A native of Ojai, CA, she was a high school teammate of
current Yellowjacket Ally Taylor, who was an All-West Region
second team selection last season as a freshman for the
Yellowjackets. Albrent was a three-year letter winner at Nordoff
High School where she earned All-CIF honors as a senior.
“Lacey is an excellent central defender who
is technically and tactically sound,” said Trentham. “She brings
two years of junior college experience to our team, and I believe
she has the versatility to also play as a central midfielder if we
were to need her there.”
Wilcox started all 46 games in her two
seasons at Walla Walla CC. She earned all-conference and academic
all-conference honors. A native of Boise, ID, Wilcox was her
team’s offensive MVP three times at Borah High School, earning
first team All-Southeastern Idaho honors as a senior.
“Sarah comes to us from a junior college
program that has a good tradition in the Northwest,” said
Trentham. “Having played two years for John Charman (WWCC head
coach), I am certain that Sarah is coming here with an excellent
understanding of the game. She has the ability to step in and
contribute immediately in the back.” |
