(Nov. 21, 2003)
Box Score
SEATTLE, WA – Sophia Forney (Fr., Livingston,
MT) made a pair of free throws with just 2.5 seconds
on the clock as MSU Billings edged Central
Washington 70-68 Friday afternoon in the opening
round of the Falcon Hoop Classic hosted by Seattle
Pacific. The meeting was a rematch of last
year's NCAA Tournament first round game which the
Yellowjackets won 91-69. MSUB is now 2-1 on
the season and 10-1 all time against the Wildcats.
CWU falls to 1-1 for the year.
Forney was
3-of-5 from the free throw line, including the final
two points of the game, and scored 13 points.
She was fouled on an 8-footer by Lindsay Weiss, who
had tied the game at 68 just moments earlier with
two of her team-high 18 points. Central
Washington was unable to get off a last second shot
before the buzzer after Forney's free throws.
Jenny Langford (So., Reedpoint, MT) scored a
career-high 21 points to lead all scorers in the
game. She was 7-of-12 from the field and
6-of-8 from 3-point range, setting a new career high
for 3-pointers made in a game.
Central
Washington led by as many as 11 in the first half
and by five at halftime before the Yellowjackets
rallied to close the gap in the second half.
There were seven lead changes after intermission,
but the Yellowjackets never trailed in the final six
minutes of the game.
Center Robyn
Milne (Jr., Richey, MT) recorded her third-straight
double-double of the season with 15 points and 14
rebounds. She is averaging 17 points and 13.7
rebounds a game through the first three games of the
year. In addition to Forney, Langford and
Milne, the Lady Yellowjackets got 10 points from
Alisa Lordemann (Jr., Glendive, MT), five from Tanya
Peterson (So., Billings, MT), four from Jennifer
Skrifvars (Fr., Brea, CA) and two from Kayla Frize
(Jr., Miles City, MT).
The Lady Jackets will face
Seattle Pacific on Saturday in a rematch of last

and top-ranked Falcons defeated the Yellowjackets to
move on to the regional finals, where they lost to
