BILLINGS, MT – Kayla Frize
(Jr., Miles City, MT) took the first step in her
return from knee surgery with a game-high 25 points
in the MSU Billings women’s basketball Blue-Gold
Scrimmage on Saturday. Frize connected on seven
3-pointers as the Blue Team won 70-58.
Including Frize, four players
netted double-figures for the Blue. Tanya Peterson
(So., Billings, MT) scored 14 to go with eight
rebounds. Jenny Auer (So., Billings, MT) hit three
3-pointers for 11 points, and Sophia Forney (Fr.,
Livingston, MT) added 10 points and a game-high 14
rebounds.
Team captain Robyn Milne (Jr.,
Richey, MT) notched a double-double for the Gold
Team with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Billings
Senior HS product Shannon Harvey (Fr., Billings, MT)
was 4-of-8 from 3-point range for 14 points and also
had five rebounds and four assists. Transfers Jamie
Barker (Jr., Templeton, CA) and Alisa Lordemann
(Jr., Glendive, MT) added 11 and 10 points
respectively.
The Lady Yellowjackets will
open the 2003-2004 regular season on November 17
with a key West Region match-up against Sonoma
State. MSUB will host the Seawolves at 8:00 p.m. on
the 17th and at 7:00 on the 18th.
Sonoma State has defeated the Jackets in each of the
past two years. MSU Billings will be trying to
extend a school-record 30-game home court winning
streak. |
