Milne Tops Glacier Classic All-Tournament Team (Dec. 22, 2003)
BILLINGS, MT – After leading
the Lady Yellowjacket basketball team to
back-to-back wins in Alaska, Robyn Milne was named
the Glacier Classic’s Most Outstanding Player. She
averaged a double-double for the two-game tournament
with totals of 28 points and 33 rebounds. Sophomore
forward Tanya Petersen was also selected to the
All-Glacier Classic Team.
Against Alaska-Anchorage on
Friday, Milne netted 14 points and grabbed a
game-high 11 rebounds. She also blocked four shots
as the Yellowjackets held Anchorage to just a
37-percent field goal percentage. Petersen, a
Billings West grad, dropped in a career-high 21
points on 8-of-12 shooting
from the field and 5-of-5 from the line to lead the
MSUB offense. Petersen’s previous career-high was
14 points. She also collected eight rebounds.
Milne and Petersen accounted for 58-percent of the
Lady Jackets’ scoring and 51-percent of their
rebounding against the Seawolves.
Milne picked up her seventh
double-double of the year Saturday, scoring 14
points to go with a career-high 22 rebounds as the
Yellowjackets defeated Alaska-Fairbanks. She also
matched her career high for blocked shots with six.
The junior captain from Richey, Mont., is averaging
a double-double for the season with 13 points and
13.3 rebounds a game. She has also blocked 25 shots
in ten games. Petersen added 15 points, five
rebounds and four assists in the win against
Fairbanks. She is second on the team in all three
categories, averaging 11.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and
1.8 assists.
