Yellowjacket Volleyball Signs Canadian Standout (May

BILLINGS, MT – Montana State University-Billings head
women’s volleyball coach Pa’ulasi Matavao announced Tuesday that Alicia
Cazemier of Vauxhall, Alberta, Canada has signed a national letter of
intent to play for the Yellowjackets next fall.
Cazemier graduated as the valedictorian of Vauxhall
High School earlier this month. The 6-foot-1 middle blocker led Vauxhall
to a 54-1 overall record as a senior with its only loss coming in the zone
championship match. As a junior, Cazemier led Vauxhall to zone and
provincial titles. She was named the team’s Most Valuable Player as both
a junior and a senior.
Cazemier was selected to the Provincial All-Star team
in 2002 and 2004 as a middle blocker. She was also named to Team Alberta
both years. In 2002, Cazemier helped Team Alberta to the Western Canada
Championship.
A four-time Vauxhall High School Athlete of the Year,
Cazemier also starred in basketball for which she was a three-time team
MVP. She was named the league MVP and the runner up for Alberta’s 2A
Player of the Year as a senior. Along with numerous league all-star
selections in volleyball and basketball, Cazemier was selected as a league
all-star in 2003 as a first baseman on Vauxhall’s softball team. |
