Lady Jacket Softball Inks Senior High Standout (Apr. 29, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings head
softball coach Jeff Aumend announced today that Jenna Haacke of
Billings Senior High School has signed a national letter of intent
to play for the Yellowjackets next season. The 5-foot-10 second baseman becomes the first player
signed by the Yellowjackets this spring.
“Jenna is one of
the best hitters in the state of Montana and a great fit, as a
person, for our program,” said Aumend. “We look for players that
are committed to athletic, academic and social excellence and we
have exactly that in Jenna. She’s going to have a great future
leading MSU Billings to elite status among softball programs in
the NCAA Division II.”
Haacke was a four-year letter winner for the
Broncs, earning first team all-conference honors in her first
three seasons at BSHS. Her senior season is still in progress.
Haacke also earned second team all-state recognition as a freshman
and has been a first team all-state selection for the past two
years.
Haacke set the Billings Senior HS RBI and
home run single season records in her junior season. She also
helped the Broncs to the Class AA state championship as a
sophomore. Haacke has been a two-time Academic All-State honoree. |
