Lady Jacket Softball Takes Two at Dawson C.C. (Oct. 4, 2003)
GLENDIVE, MT – The MSU Billings softball team
continued the fall non-championship segment of its schedule
Saturday with a double-header sweep of Dawson Community College.
The Yellowjackets posted wins of 11-0 and 6-2.
Megan McCrae (Jr., Brandon, Manitoba) earned
the win in the first game, pitching three scoreless innings as the
Yellowjackets won by the eight-run rule in five innings. McCrae
struck out five and allowed just two Buccaneer hits. Stephanie
Cochrun (Jr., Lake Stevens, WA) tossed the final two innings,
holding the Bucs scoreless and allowing two hits. Christy Wankel
(So., Great Falls, MT) went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the MSUB
offense.
In game two, the Yellowjackets rode the arm
of Joey Ehnes (Jr., Great Falls, MT) to the win. Ehnes allowed
just two hits over five innings of work while striking out six
batters. Cochrun pitched the sixth inning, and McCrae pitched the
final three outs of the game. Terilee Ehnes (Sr., Great Falls,
MT) was 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of runs scored.
The Yellowjackets will host Dawson CC next
Saturday in a double-dip at Cenex Stadium. Game times are
scheduled for 2:00 and 4:00.
