Pertuit’s Hat Trick Lifts Yellowjackets over Morningside (Sept. 13, 2003)

BISMARCK, ND – Midfielder Thomas Pertuit (Jr., Billings, MT) scored three goals Saturday to lead MSU Billings to a 3-2 victory over Morningside College.  It was the Yellowjackets’ second straight win and fifth of the season.

Victor Sargent (Fr., Billings, MT) assisted on Pertuit’s first two goals and A.J. Reyes (Fr., Quartz Hill, CA) assisted on the third.  The Yellowjackets had 12 shots on goal to the Mustangs’ six.  Yacine Zerizef was in goal for MSUB, registering four saves in the win.  No other stats were available.

Pertuit has seven goals and 17 points in eight games this season, and MSUB improves to 5-2-1.  Just halfway through the 2003 schedule, the Yellowjackets are two wins away from tying the school record for wins in a season at seven.  They are also tied for fourth in school history for goals scored in a season with 17 so far.  Both records are held by the 2001 squad which went 7-7-2 and scored 39 goals.
