Yellowjacket Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision at Regis (Sept. 26, 2003)

DENVER, CO – Missing three key starters, the
MSU Billings men’s soccer team had a difficult time putting shots
on goal Friday in a 1-0 loss at Regis University. Regis is
currently ranked fifth in the Central Region. The Yellowjackets
dropped to 5-6-1 with the loss while the Rangers improved to
5-2-2.
Regis out-shot the Yellowjackets 26-7 in the
game, with Cody Berg’s goal at the 38:35 mark accounting for the
only scoring in the game. MSU Billings goalkeeper Jess
Feldtman (So., Lander, WY) made nine saves in the game, giving
him 30 in eight appearances this year.
Starters Lucas
Sanchez (Sr., Park City, UT), Robbie
Thimm (Sr., Park City, UT) and Victor Sargent (Fr., Billings, MT) all missed the trip due to
injuries. Dustin
Kono (So., Aberdeen, SD), Thomas Pertuit (Jr., Billings, MT) and A.J. Reyes (Fr., Quartz Hill, CA) each fired two shots in the game, but the
Yellowjackets couldn’t put their shots on goal.
MSU Billings will try to rebound from its
four-game losing streak at Colorado-Colorado Springs on Saturday.
Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Mountain Lions are 3-4
for the season, with wins over Regis and Metro State who are both
ranked in the Central Region’s top ten. |
