Yellowjackets Sign Washington Soccer Player (June 1, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings head
men’s soccer coach Doug Seigle announced today that he has signed
another standout from Juanita High School in Kirkland, Wash.
Midfielder Greg McKeever, a 6-foot-1 midfielder, has signed a
national letter of intent to play for the Yellowjackets next
season. Seigle earlier signed McKeever’s teammate, Colin Adams.
Juanita High School recently placed second in
the Washington State 4A Tournament. McKeever and Adams scored the
team’s two goals in its 2-1 semifinal victory.
McKeever scored six goals with nine assists
in his senior season. Juanita’s season was completed last weekend
at the state tournament, and season honors will be released next
week. As a junior, McKeever was named Juanita High School’s Most
Valuable Player and earned All-King County first team honors. He
also garnered first team All-King County honors as a sophomore.
“Greg is a very talented left footed player
who can play multiple positions and we expect for him to fight for
playing time at a midfield or defensive spot,” said Seigle. “He
has good size and a great left foot that will help us attack up
the left side from either outside position. He will definitely be
someone who can step in and make an immediate contribution as a
true freshman.” |
