Yellowjacket Soccer Team Inks Two More Recruits (May 5, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings men’s
soccer coach Doug Seigle announced today that Alex Newton of
Juneau, Ala., and Nathan Will of Colorado Springs, Colo., have
signed national letters of intent to play for the Yellowjackets
next season.
Will was a three-year letter winner at James
Irwin Charter High School in Colorado Springs. The 6-foot-3
forward scored 18 goals and five assists in 16 games as a junior.
He missed his senior season with an injury. Will helped his team
to the state playoffs as a junior. He also lettered two years in
basketball and one year in baseball.
“Nathan is a tall, thin guy who is a good
prospect for us,” said Seigle. “This is only his fourth year of
playing soccer. He has a huge upside and can play multiple
positions.”
Newton played at Juneau-Douglas High School,
where his senior season is still ongoing. He was a two-year
letter winner and helped his team to the 2003 Alaska state
championship. His team was ranked in the top 20 in the nation
among spring soccer teams.
“Alex is a young, scrappy player,” said
Seigle. “I look for him to compete right away for playing time.” |
