Yellowjackets Sign
Soccer Transfer from Evansville (July 14, 2003)
BILLINGS, MT – MSU Billings men’s soccer
coach Doug Seigle announced Monday that Dustin Kono, a 5-foot-10
midfielder/defender from Aberdeen, South Dakota, will transfer to
MSUB from Division I University of Evansville. Kono played in 14
of 20 games for the Purple Aces last season as a true freshman.
Kono graduated in 2002 from Aberdeen Central
High School where he earned all-state honors as a junior and
senior. He was the team MVP and team captain in his senior
season, scoring eight goals and 20 points as ACHS finished 7-6-6
and placed third at the state tournament. He also helped the
track team to the 2002 state championship while running on the
three-time 4x100 meter relay state championship squad.
“I think MSU Billings will be a good place to
further my education,” said Kono, who majors in pre-pharmacy. “I
love Montana and the things there are to do outdoors and on
campus. I look forward to competing with the Yellowjackets.” |
