Yellowjacket Golfers Complete Two Rounds in
California

TURLOCK, CA – The Montana
State-Billings men’s golf team is in eighteenth
place after the first two rounds of the Buzzini/Stanislaus
Invitational. The first 36 holes of the 54-hole
tournament were played Monday at the 6,641-yard
Turlock Country Club. The final round will be
played Tuesday morning.
The Yellowjackets were led by
Chris Haas, who shot a first round 71, followed by a
second round 78 for a 5-over 149. Judd Norman
carded rounds of 81 and 75 to finish with a 12-over
156. Scott Gordon of UC-Davis and Josh Immordino of
Western Washington are tied for the individual lead
at 5-under par. Gordon tied the single round
tournament record with a 67 in the first round.
Hawaii-Hilo’s Nick Mason broke Gordon’s record in
the second round with a 7-under 65.
The Yellowjackets are in range
to move up in the standings in Tuesday’s final
round. They are just three strokes behind Sonoma
State and eight behind Adams State. The tournament
features several of the top teams in the West
Region, including No. 1 Chico State, No. 2 Cal
State-Bakersfield, No. 3 Cal State-Stanislaus, No. 4
UC-San Diego, No. 5 Western Washington, No. 7
Hawaii-Hilo, and No. 8 Cal State-San Bernardino.
