Yellowjacket Golfers Wrap Up First Event of the
Season (Feb. 24, 2004)
BAKERSFIELD, CA – The Montana
State-Billings men’s golf team finished its first
event of the year, the Cal State Bakersfield Family
Motors Invitational, with a seventeenth place finish
in a seventeen team field. Four of the top five
ranked teams in the nation were competing, with No.
2 Cal State-Bakersfield taking the top team spot.
UC-San Diego’s Brian Duckworth shot a final round
7-under 65 to take top individual honors.
The Yellowjackets were led by
Andy Eames, who shot rounds of 79, 77 and 78 to
finish in 77th place. Chris Haas had the
best third round showing with a 4-over 76 on
Tuesday. The Yellowjackets’ next event will be at
the Northwest Intercollegiate in Blaine, Washington
on March 22 and 23. The MSU Billings women’s team
plays its first tournament March 8-9 at the Subway
Invitational in Chico, CA.
