Skrifvars Named Player of the Week by PacWest Conference (Mar. 9, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings Jerett
Skrifvars was named PacWest Player of the Week for his performance
in two wins last week. Skrifvars, a senior guard from Brea, CA,
averaged 19.5 points and 11.5 rebounds a game in two wins over
Western New Mexico . Also last week, Skrifvars was named to the
CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team. He graduated last spring
with a 4.00 in information systems.
Skrifvars
finished the season as the top rebounder and No. 4 scorer in the
PacWest, averaging 18.3 points and 8.6 rebounds a game. He also
ranked in the top ten for field goal percentage, assists, steals,
assist/turnover ratio, offensive rebounds and double-doubles. He
led the conference with ten double-doubles this season, the final
coming on Senior Night with 20 points and a career-high 17
rebounds.
A Yellowjacket for his entire collegiate
career, Skrifvars finished in the top ten in four career
statistical categories. He is No. 3 for free throws made, No. 5
for steals, No. 7 for rebounds and No. 10 for points scored. He
becomes just the nineteenth player in school history to score over
1,000 points with 1,240.
