Yellowjacket Golf Teams to Hold Tournament as
Fundraiser (Apr. 23, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – First year coach
Roger Burckley and the Montana State-Billings golf
teams will host a four-person scramble on May 7 at
The Briarwood Country Club as a fundraiser for the
new program. The event is a fundraiser for the
Yellowjacket golf teams and is separate from the
annual Coca-Cola Yellowjacket Scholarship
Tournament, which will be held on June 3 at The
Briarwood.
Teams or individuals interested
in the May 7 Yellowjacket Golf Tournament can
register by contacting coach Burckley at 245-8691.
The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at
8:00 a.m. with lunch and an award ceremony following
the completion of the tournament. Team entries cost
$340, or individuals can play for $85.
The Yellowjacket golf program
is in its second season and will compete in the
Pacific West Conference beginning in 2004-2005.
MSU Billings has the only golf program in Montana
that competes at the NCAA level in both men’s and
women’s golf.
