Lady Jacket Golf Team Adds Two Montanans (Apr. 28, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana
State-Billings head golf coach Roger Burckley
announced today that he has signed two Montana
players to national letters of intent. Joining the
Yellowjackets for the 2004-2005 season will be Class
B golfers Lana Payovich of Huntley, Mont., and
Nicole Salsbery of Malta, Mont.
Payovich was a four-year letter
winner at Huntley Project High School. She helped
the Red Devils to a fourth place finish at the Class
B State Championships in 2003. She currently has
four top four finishes in her senior season.
Salsbery was a four-year letter
winner in golf and a three-time letter winner in
basketball at Malta High School. She was a Class B
All-State finisher in 2003, placing fifth at the
state meet. She was named her team’s MVP as a
sophomore and a junior and has been a four-time
Academic All-State honoree in both basketball and
golf.
“We are excited to have two
young ladies join our program who have performed
well in the Montana Class B ranks,” said Burckley.
“Finding Montana’s top young talent is our
priority. These two players will be a good fit for
MSU Billings.” |
