Eames, Clifford Chasing Top 20 Finishes in South

State-Billings golfers Andy Eames and Julie Clifford
are in positions to challenge for top 20 finishes
after the first round of the Coyote Invitational
hosted by the University of South Dakota. Eames
sits tied for eleventh place in the men’s individual
standings after shooting an even par 72. Clifford
is tied for twentieth place with a 17-over 89.
Monday’s second round will
start with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start at The Bluffs
Golf Club. The Yellowjacket men’s team is in
seventh place in the 12 team field. The Jackets are
four strokes behind Dakota Wesleyan for sixth place
and 15 strokes behind leader St. Cloud State. Chris
Haas is just outside of the top 20, holding onto
twenty-second place with a 2-over 74.
The women’s team is in seventh
place in the eight team field, five strokes behind
Wayne State College and three strokes ahead of
Morningside College. Elizabeth Marshall is in
twenty-seventh place with a 20-over 92.
