Billings Bees Registrations Now Being Accepted (Sept. 12,2003)
BILLINGS, MT – Registration for the 13th annual Billings Bees Basketball Clinics Sponsored by the Billings Gazette is beginning at MSU Billings. The 2003
clinics are scheduled for four straight Saturdays starting October
18 and ending November 8. The boys’ clinic will run from 8:30 to
10:00 a.m. each Saturday, and the girls’ clinic will run from
10:30 a.m. to noon.
Open to boys and girls entering grades K-6,
the Billings Bees clinics will be directed by Yellowjacket head
men’s coach Craig Carse and head women’s coach Melissa Slone.
Yellowjacket assistant coaches and players will also be involved
in teaching at the clinics. Included in the $30 registration fee
will be the four clinics, a t-shirt, a basketball and a game pass
to a Yellowjacket home game.
MSU Billings is also accepting registrations
for the new Billings Bees Boys’ Basketball League. For boys
entering grades 5-8, the league will run on five straight Sundays
beginning September 28 and ending October 26. Game times will run
from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. each Sunday. League registration, a draft
and the first practice will be held on September 28.
Boys will participate in two divisions
depending on skill level and experience. There will be eight
teams made up of no more than ten players, with each player
guaranteed to participate in a minimum of 16 minutes per game.
Through the four-week league schedule, teams will play seven
games. A single-elimination tournament will be held November 2
with the league championship game taking place Monday, November 10
prior to the MSU Billings first men’s exhibition game.
