Munoz, Milne Among National Statistics Leaders (Jan. 20, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – Cameron Munoz, sophomore guard
for the Montana State-Billings men’s basketball team, leads the
nation for 3-point shooting in this week’s NCAA statistical
rankings. Munoz, who finished fifth in the country as a freshman
last year, is averaging 4.6 three-pointers per game to bolster the
Yellowjackets’ long ball attack that leads the nation with 12.9
three-pointers a game. The Yellowjackets also rank second in the
nation for scoring, averaging 94.2 ppg. Pfeiffer leads the
country at 96.4 ppg.
The NCAA statistical staff computes national
leaders in all three divisions each week based on statistics
reported by conferences. The weekly rankings are released each
Tuesday and can be viewed online at www.ncaa.org. Munoz has been ranked in the top three for
3-point shooting since the first rankings were released January 6.
The Lady Yellowjackets’ Robyn Milne is No. 5
in the nation for rebounding, averaging 11.8 rebounds a game,
helping MSU Billings rank 41st in the country for
rebounding margin. The 6-foot-3 junior from Richey, Mont., is
also ranked 20th for blocked shots per game at 2.3.
