Two Losses Cost Yellowjackets Two Spots in Regional Poll (Feb. 4, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – Despite two losses last week,
the Montana State-Billings men’s basketball team remained in the
NCAA West Region poll’s top ten released on Wednesday. The
Yellowjackets lost twice at Western New Mexico last week, bumping
them from No. 8 to No. 10 in the third regional poll of the
season. MSU Billings had been ranked in the top ten in all three
polls, spending one week at No. 8 and two weeks at No. 10.
The Yellowjackets host the University of
Great Falls in a non-conference game on Thursday. Tip off will be
7:00 p.m. at Alterowitz Gymnasium. The Jackets resume PacWest
play next week with three important home games. They host BYU-Hawaii
on February 10 and 12, and Hawaii Pacific on February 14. The
Seasiders are ranked second in the region for the third straight
week and hold first place in the PacWest with a 6-1 conference
record. The Sea Warriors are currently tied with the
Yellowjackets for second place in the conference with a 4-4
conference mark.
