Yellowjackets Hang In at No. 9 in Men’s Basketball Poll (Feb. 18, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – After winning two of three
games last week, including a two game split with 17th-ranked
BYU-Hawaii, the Montana State-Billings men’s basketball team
remained at No. 9 for the second straight week in the NCAA West
Region poll.
The top eight teams in the poll at the end of
the season qualify for the NCAA Tournament. There are two regular
season polls remaining before the final poll that seeds the
regional tournament.
The Yellowjackets dropped the first game of a
three game road trip in Hawaii Tuesday night, falling to Chaminade
107-75. They play at Chaminade again on Thursday before wrapping
up the trip on Saturday at Hawaii-Hilo. PacWest frontrunner BYU-Hawaii
is No. 2 in the regional poll for the fifth straight week. The
poll is based on games through February 15. The next poll will be
released on February 25.
