Yellowjackets Climb to No. 9 in West Region Poll (Feb. 11, 2003)
BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State-Billings
men’s basketball team remained in the NCAA West Region basketball
poll for the fourth straight week, climbing one spot to No. 9 in
the rankings released by the NCAA national committee on
Wednesday. The Yellowjackets have spent two weeks at No. 10 and
one week each at No. 8 and No. 9 this season.
MSU Billings knocked off No. 2 BYU-Hawaii
Tuesday night at Alterowitz Gym. The Seasiders have been ranked
second in the region since the first poll in January. The Jackets
will host BYU-Hawaii again on Thursday, and Hawaii Pacific on
Saturday. BYUH holds first place in the PacWest with a 7-2
conference mark. MSUB is in second at 5-4. This week’s games
will be factored into the regional poll released on February 18.
