MSUB’s Coca-Cola Scholarship Golf Scramble Set for June 3 at The
Briarwood (May 24, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – The Coca-Cola Yellowjacket
Scholarship Golf Scramble hosted by Montana State-Billings
Athletics is scheduled for June 3 at The Briarwood Country Club.
The annual event raises funds for athletics scholarships for the
upcoming school year.
Coca-Cola, which has been a major sponsor of
the event for the past several years, became the tournament’s
title sponsor this year. Coke will provide several items for the
participating golfers including free beverages and gift packets.

Scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. at The
Briarwood on Thursday, June 3. Teams can begin checking in at
7:30 a.m. at The Briarwood clubhouse. A barbeque buffet and
awards ceremony will immediately follow the competition.
Last year a record 24 teams participated in
the tournament. Krista Montague, Director of Development and
Marketing for Yellowjacket Athletics, anticipates at least 22
teams for this year’s event. The team entry fee is $500 and
includes greens fees for four players, two riding carts, four
barbeque tickets, complimentary beverages and tournament
souvenirs. An individual can play for $125.
The tournament will follow the basic
four-person scramble format. The team handicap is 50-percent of
the average handicap of the four players. There will be prizes
for team net and team gross winners as well as numerous flag
prizes and door prizes.
