Moehring was
formerly an assistant coach at College of Mount St.
Joseph, a Division III school in Cincinnati. In
addition to her coaching duties, Moehring will also
work part time in the Yellowjackets’ Marketing and
Development Office.
Moehring was an NCAA II Kodak
All-American for Northern Kentucky in 1987-88 after
leading the Norse to their third straight NCAA
Tournament. In her junior season, Moehring led UNK
to the NCAA II Final Four where it lost to New Haven
in triple overtime. In her senior season she
averaged over 20 points a game in leading the Norse
to a 25-3 record. All three losses were overtime
losses, including an NCAA Tournament loss to Lake
Superior State.
After graduating with a degree
in education, Moehring worked for 12 years for
TriHealth Good Samaritan/Bethesda Hospitals as a
computer support technician. She got her start in
coaching at Scott High School in Cincinnati.
At College of Mount St. Joseph
last season, Moehring helped the Lions reach their
first NCAA Tournament in school history. She
coached guards and assisted in recruiting, travel
and fundraising.
“Melissa called me and was very
excited about the opportunities out here,” said
Moehring of her path to Billings. “I talked with
her on several occasions about it, and all she could
talk about was how great the kids were. It’s a
great opportunity both in athletics and in the
marketing and fundraising area for me. I’m looking
forward to the challenges that both positions hold.” |
