MSU Billings Cross-Country to Compete at Bozeman Meet (September 18, 2002)
BILLINGS – The Montana State University-Billings men’s and
women’s cross-country teams will travel to Bozeman this Saturday
to compete in the Montana State University-Bozeman Invitational.
The meet will play host to mainly Division I teams from the Big
Sky Conference.
The MSUB women are coming off a strong performance at last week’s
South Dakota Tech Invitational where they placed second. The Lady
Jackets were led by sophomores Chelsea Lynnes and Ellen Swogger,
who place fourth and fifth respectively.
Freshman Josh Jones, who finished 16th overall, was the
lone bright spot for the Yellowjacket men. The men’s team was
left with only four runners just before the start of the season
when Tim Sheneman had surgery and Scott Brown had his Air National
Guard duty extended indefinitely. The Jackets will continue to
feel the effects of 9/11 as they lose senior Ben McNelley for the
next month due to Marine Corps Reserve training exercises. |
