Lady Jackets to Host Rocky in Soccer (September 24, 2002)
BILLINGS - The Lady
Yellowjackets soccer team will play host to
cross-town Rocky Mountain College Wednesday
afternoon at Yellowjacket Field at the MSU Billings
C.O.T. It will be the first of two games this
season that will decide the first Rimrock Cup.
MSU Billings is currently 1-6
on the season after weekend losses to Whitworth
College and Whitman College. The Jackets fell 3-1
to Whitworth on Saturday and 4-2 to Whitman on
Sunday. It was the first time Whitman had been
scored upon this season and it was also the 100th game in the history of the women’s soccer program at
MSU Billings.
The Yellowjackets are led by
Kelly Bryn and Heidi Robertson, who each have two
goals on the season. Robertson also leads the team
with five points. Freshman Lacey Humbracht has been
in goal for the Yellowjackets for every game so
far. Humbracht’s goals-against average is 3.26 and
her save percentage is .671.
The game will start at 3:00
p.m. at Yellowjacket field, located at the MSU Billings
College of Technology on Central Ave. The winner of
the season series will win the Inaugural Rimrock
Cup, which will be up for grabs each year in the
cross-town rivalry. If the season series ends in a
1-1 tie, there will be a points system to decide the
winner. |
