Yellowjackets No. 4 in Final West Region Poll of
Regular Season (February 26,
2003)
BILLINGS, MT – The MSU Billings
women’s basketball team stayed at No. 4 in the final
regular season West Region basketball poll released
Wednesday. The top four teams in the poll have
remained the same since Western Washington passed
MSU Billings to take over the No. 3 spot on February
5.
The Yellowjackets will play in
the Converse College (SC) Tournament this weekend
for their final two games of the season. In their
final West Region games of the year, MSUB won two
games against Western New Mexico last weekend to
finish with a 13-3 mark in the region.
The top eight teams in the next
poll will qualify for the NCAA Tournament. Those
teams will be announced on March 9. The NCAA
Tournament will be held March 14-17 on the campus of
the No. 1 seed. Seattle Pacific and Cal
State-Bakersfield are the frontrunners for the top
seed. SPU is still unbeaten at 23-0.
