Lady Bobcats Take Two Matches from Yellowjackets (October 19, 2002)

BILLINGS, MT – The MSU-Bozeman women’s tennis team completed a two-day sweep of the Yellowjackets Saturday with a 5-2 victory at the MSU Billings Indoor Tennis Center.  The Bobcats also defeated the Jackets 5-2 on Friday afternoon.

Yellowjackets Amanda Schlosser and Becky Fry picked up wins on Saturday, while MSUB newcomers Lee Sowada and Jenni Howe won their matches on Friday.

The Yellowjackets will complete their fall schedule on November 8-9 when both the men’s and women’s teams travel to Pocatello, Idaho for the Bengal Invitational.

“We played well for this early in the year,” said Yellowjacket head coach Jerry Peach.  “Our goal is to just keep improving.  We really need some work on our doubles play.  One thing we have learned is that our new players (Sowada and Howe) are great additions.”
