Softball Signs Former Frenchtown Standout (June
2, 2003)
BILLINGS, MT – The MSU Billings softball
program has signed former Frenchtown softball standout Anna
Henderson to a national letter of intent for the 2004 season.
Henderson, a 2002 graduate of Frenchtown High School, played last
season at Yakima Valley Community College.
As a freshman at YVCC last season, Henderson
batted .364 and drove in 20 runs from the leadoff spot. She was a
four-year letter winner and a three-time all state first team
selection at Frenchtown HS. The southpaw outfielder led
Frenchtown to two State B titles (1999 and 2002) and four state
tournament appearances. Henderson also garnered all state
recognition as a volleyball player and helped the FHS basketball
team advance to two state tournaments.
“I decided to attend MSU Billings because I
want to stay in Montana and pursue my Montana teaching
certification,” said Henderson. “I look forward to playing for
the Yellowjacket softball program.”
The Yellowjackets finished last season 15-20
overall in just their third year of play. They compete in the
Pacific West Conference, which includes four teams from Hawaii and
one from New Mexico. MSUB graduated just one senior from a team
that was predominantly comprised of freshmen and sophomores. The
Jackets batted .271 as a team this year and had three players hit
over.300. They hit 12 home runs and had a team slugging
percentage of .369. |
