Yellowjacket Softball Team to Hold Home Run Contest (April 7, 2003)

BILLINGS, MT – The MSU Billings softball team will host a men’s and women’s slow-pitch softball home run contest on Sunday, April 13 at Cenex Stadium.  The contest’s preliminary round will be held from noon to 1:00 p.m. before the Yellowjackets’ double-header against Chaminade University.  The finals will be held between games.

The entry fee for the home run contest is $10 per contestant with the male and female winners each splitting their respective entry fee pots 50/50 with the Yellowjacket softball team.  The contest will be limited to the first 10 male and 10 female participants to register. 

Each contestant will have 10 pitches from his or her own pitcher, with the top two males and females advancing to the finals.  The overall champions of the finals will win the cash prize while the day’s long-ball champions will win a free dinner for two at the Rock Pile Sports Bar.  The Rock Pile will also be offering food and beverage specials before and after the softball games.
